If you want an affordable and sporty SUV, look no further than the 2023 Kia Sorento. Starting at just $30,090, this attractive Kia vehicle is packed with advanced tech and has enough room for your family and all of their stuff![1]

The 2023 Kia Sorento is available at eight trim levels: LX, S, X-Line S AWD, EX, X-Line EX AWD, SX, SX Prestige AWD, and X-Line SX Prestige AWD.

Performance

Offering two capable powertrains, the 2023 Sorento is ready for adventure — whether you’re going to work or enjoying a weekend on the coast.

The standard engine is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder that creates 191 horsepower, 181 lb-ft of torque, and a max towing capacity of 2,000 pounds. With its eight-speed automatic transmission, you can expect to get up to 24 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway for FWD models.[2]

For an even more commanding drive, you can equip your new Kia Sorento with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine. This generates a thrilling 281 horsepower, 311 lb-ft of torque, and a max towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. Thanks to this engine’s eight-speed “wet type” Dual-Clutch Transmission, fuel economy is just as impressive at 22 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.[2]

If you want to stretch your dollar even further when it comes to fuel economy, the 2023 Kia Sorento is also available with hybrid (HEV) and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains.

Infotainment

Staying connected on the go is simple with the new Sorento. The cabin is home to an 8-inch touch-screen display that works seamlessly with Android Auto™, Apple CarPlay®, and Bluetooth®. You can also connect your devices via the USB data port in the front console while rear passengers can charge up with second- and third-row USB charge ports.

By opting for the Sorento S, you’ll upgrade to a larger 10.25-inch touch-screen display that’s equipped with Navigation and Kia Connect — a system that lets you remotely access the SUV and do things like lock/unlock the doors, start the engine, and more. This trim also adds SiriusXM® satellite radio, natural voice recognition, a wireless phone charger, and an additional USB charge port in the second row.

Safety

In addition to the technology that will keep you entertained, Kia has included plenty of advanced systems in the 2023 Sorento to keep you just as safe. The SUV comes with many Kia Drive Wise driver-assist safety systems, including helpful tools like Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian and Vehicle Detection as well as Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist-Parallel Exit.

Also standard is Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, which will automatically change the speed of the SUV when in cruise control based on the speed limits it detects via the front camera or GPS. For long road trips and traffic jams, Driver Attention Warning with Leading Vehicle Departure Alert will sense if the driver is losing focus and let you know when the cars ahead of you have started moving.

There are also intelligent features that work when the SUV isn’t even moving. Rear Occupant Alert reminds you to check the back seat before leaving the vehicle. Meanwhile, Safe Exit Assist keeps an eye out for oncoming vehicles as you exit to ensure that it’s safe to do so.

Interior

As one of the larger vehicles in the Kia lineup, the new Sorento has room for up to seven people. The three-row SUV has a cabin that is both comfortable and versatile. You can stick with the cozy cloth seats that come standard or opt for available easy-to-clean SynTex (synthetic leather) or plush genuine leather seats that are embossed and perforated.

If you don’t need all of those seats, you can choose a Sorento with second-row captain’s chairs. No matter which seating setup you go with, the Sorento offers a total of 75.5 cubic feet of total cargo space with all of the rear seats down.
